Rooted in the 7 Tenets of Catholic Social Teaching, the Our Lady of Lourdes Justice and Charity Committee seeks to engage with and promote the work of our local partners in social justice work. In this section, parishioners and community members will find resources and narratives to increase their understanding of social justice and advocacy, as well as information about partners who are doing this work on a local, national, and international level.

Sharing and Caring Hands
Every other month, a group of parishioners goes to Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis to help serve a meal to those who
are hungry. We are very proud of this ongoing ministry to those in need and to partner with the long standing work of Sharing and Caring Hands. -
Saint John Paul II Catholic Grade School
Our Lady of Lourdes is proud to be a sponsor of Catholic education in our community. We partner closely Ascension Catholic Academy which is comprised of three grade schools - Ascension (North Minneapolis), Saint John Paul II (Northeast Minneapolis), and St. Peter Claver (St. Paul.)_ Lourdes parishioners support these schools in many ways, including as volunteers, board members, mentors and tutors, and donors. This past weekend the principal of St. John Paul II, Tricia Menzhuber, spoke at all the Masses. She shared how Catholic education is bringing hope and connection to our communities, while stiving to form both saints and scholars. Principal Menzhuber and students from St. JP II School visited Our Lady of Lourdes recently to learn more about church and parish. Please support this important partnership.
