Our Social Justice Partners

Rooted in the 7 Tenets of Catholic Social Teaching, the Our Lady of Lourdes Justice and Charity Committee seeks to engage with and promote the work of our local partners in social justice work. 

Every other month, a group of parishioners goes to Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis to help serve a meal to those who are hungry. We are very proud of this ongoing ministry to those in need and to partner with the long standing work of Sharing and Caring Hands.

Our Lady of Lourdes is proud to be a sponsor of Catholic education in our community. We partner closely Ascension Catholic Academy which is comprised of three grade schools - Ascension (North Minneapolis), St. John Paul II (Northeast Minneapolis), and St. Peter Claver (St. Paul). Lourdes parishioners support these schools in many ways, including as volunteers, board members, mentors and tutors, and donors.  To learn more about the school's mission, visit here.

Our Lady of Lourdes partners closely with Abria Pregnancy Resources, which provides support to women and families facing unplanned or difficult pregnancies.  Our Lady of Lourdes provides financial support, resource support, and pastoral support.
